Brand Spotlight: Alki
Alki combines ancestral tradition and modern technology to create a contemporary style that the Bureau team love!
With a heritage that stretches back to 1981, Alki began in the Basque Country with the brand name coming from the Basque word for chair. The brand was born out of the region’s need for employment and the company’s co-operative model began and still stands today.
Alki’s design ethos focuses on the relationship between the person and the product and on the pleasure drawn from using it. Using only the finest, sustainable materials, with a focus on strong, hard-wearing oak, today Alki creates an inspirational collection that combines traditional crafting techniques with cutting edge technology.
From contemporary chairs with colour-pop wool upholstery to modern office desks inspired by the classic carpenter’s workbench, the collection is instantly recognisable for both its creativity and superior quality. The Landa collection, designed by Samael Accocoeberry, has become a firm favourite with the Bureau team and, as Scotland’s only commercial dealer, we look forward to working more with this truly remarkable brand in the future!
